Free and available anytime – that's the new tourist offering from the university town of Idstein, entitled "Idsteiner Geschwätz" (Idstein Gossip). Behind it lies not only an innovative concept, but also numerous stories about Idstein's history – interesting for tourists as well as locals. QR codes embedded in cobblestones at seven different locations throughout the town bring a variety of characters to life – provided visitors have a mobile phone that can scan the codes. Hessian Radio (hr) presenter Marion Kuchenny and her colleague Bastian Korff lend their voices to these Idstein characters. In Rodergasse, "Harry von der Gass" and the two tanners by the fountain tell stories about their lives.

Memorial of the Alumni Association of the Former State Building School In the green space of the upper Bahnhofstraße stands the memorial of the "Alumni Associations of the Building School" with the dedicatory inscription "To Our Dead." It served—and still serves—as a memorial to the deceased members of the student fraternities. The monument was erected in the second half of the 1920s and, at its dedication, was ceremonially placed under the permanent care of the city of Idstein.

A plaque attached to the wall near the so-called Witches' Tower. It lists the names of the citizens of Idstein who were executed during the witch trials. This is what makes it so impressive.
