The 'white' Hirschstein: in contrast to the usual border markers here in the Murg Valley, all made of red sandstone, this one was (and still is) repeatedly painted over with white paint for maintenance purposes, which makes it stand out. The engraved lettering is also painted over in black! The path on which it is located was named after this stone (or vice versa?): 'The Hirschsteinweg'! The question arises: why or what for? ...perhaps because there is a historically important fork in the road here? ...perhaps a special event took place? Helpful 'explanatory' answers are very much appreciated!
