October 13, 2025, Fellhorn Ridge Hike

Simply a fantastic hike! Since I'm not afraid of heights, I was skeptical, but I had no problems! Two sections after the Fellhorn summit were secured with ropes, but they weren't dangerous. In dry conditions and with good footwear, I highly recommend it!

In the fall of 1995, several thousand cubic meters of rock broke out of the western cliff at the saddle summit and plunged into the gorge. They blocked the riverbed several meters high and dammed the Breitach River to form a lake. During the snowmelt the following spring, the dam burst, and a flood wave, reaching up to 35 meters in the narrow section of the gorge, devastated the gorge path.
