A coffee shop and a brewery right across the street from each other! What more can you ask for on a relaxing ride around Stowe? Idletyme Brewing and PK Coffee are two great spots to grab a burger and beer or coffee and pastry depending on your mood (and time of day). Both of these local-favorite spots are right off of the Stowe Recreational Path, making them convenient to stop at and refuel as you explore the area.

The Trapp Family Lodge is a famous resort founded and owned by the Trapp family, whose flight from Nazi-occupied Austria was fictionalized in the beloved musical "The Sound of Music." The lodge has a great restaurant, lounge, gift shop, and ski shop. The Trapp Family Lodge also manages an extensive network of world-class cross-county skiing trails that can be used for hiking and mountain biking in the spring, summer, and fall months. You will need to purchase a day pass at the lodge if you wish to explore these trails. This historic lodge is fun to explore and a great place to relax after a hard day of skiing, hiking, or biking!

The West Farm Trail is located within the Brewster Uplands and loops through the woods northeast of the gorge, past farmlands that are still in use. There are several trails that connect to The Alden Bryan Trail, which parallels the river, and the Brewster Pond Loop, allowing you to lengthen your hike if you choose. Please note that two farms and associated fields on the property are not open to public recreation; they are working farms so please be respectful as you hike around here.

Thompson Park is home to a parking area, picnic tables, and trailhead for the paved Stowe Recreational Path. The trail leaving from here is wide, smooth, and easy for any skill level.

The bike path along the West Branch Little River in Stowe is a paradise for bikers. It is nicely paved with several access points to the river, which is perfect for a quick swim on hot days. Also, the surrounding corn fields and green mountains create a perfect scenery as you cruise along. The several bridges crossing over the river as you ride along the path are charming and give you nice view points on the river. The path is also ideal because it keeps you away from the busy Mountain Road. I definitely recommend it
