Museum Arnhem is a striking museum for modern art, contemporary art, and design, spectacularly situated on a high ice-pushed ridge with a panoramic view of the Rhine. The museum is housed in a historic building from 1873 – a former gentlemen's club – which has recently been renovated and expanded by Benthem Crouwel Architects with a floating glass wing. The collection enjoys national renown for its leading collection of magic realism and neo-realism, supplemented by current, socially engaged art and an extensive collection of contemporary jewelry. The museum is located at Utrechtseweg 87 and is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. With a museum pass (Museumkaart), you enjoy free admission to all current exhibitions; simply scan your card at the ticket counter. The unique sculpture garden full of monumental sculptures, the museum shop, and Café Pierre, located in the dome, are always freely accessible to everyone without a ticket.

Asis Rafiki is a striking 2022 artwork by artist Monika Dahlberg, permanently placed in the sculpture garden of Museum Arnhem. The 3.5-meter-high sculpture stands as a powerful eye-catcher at the entrance to the museum garden on the Utrechtseweg and welcomes visitors with its striking colors and shapes. The name of the sculpture literally means 'sun friend', which is derived from the Kenyan word Asis for sun and the Swahili word Rafiki for friend. In her design, the artist uniquely combines traditional African sculpture forms with Western pop culture. This is clearly evident in the large black ears that immediately bring Mickey Mouse to mind and symbolize the 'Disneyfication' and commercialization of the modern world.
