Although times have changed, this port is no open-air museum! To this day, fishermen from the Haffküste cooperative set sail from here every morning in their cutters onto the Szczecin Lagoon or the Uecker river to empty giant nets called 'żaki'. They bring back fresh zander, perch, pike, and even salmon, which can be bought on the spot straight from the boat.

The church was built on the foundations of an old church destroyed during the Thirty Years' War, and in 1731 it gained its current, restored shape. Inside, it hides a historic Baroque altar from 1777 and a unique votive model of a four-masted ship from 1910, suspended from the ceiling – a symbol of the proximity to the Szczecin Lagoon and the village's fishing traditions.

In the baroque timber-framed tower hangs a unique bell cast in bronze in 1833. Interestingly, it was not created far away in Germany, but was cast in Stetina (modern-day Szczecin) by a famous bell founder named Voß.

The main body of the church was built as a solid red brick building, but the clock tower with a bell that crowns it is a classic, light timber-framed construction (fachwerk), reminiscent of traditional Prussian masonry.

Inside, there is an altar behind an older altarpiece dating from 1617. A Baroque baptismal angel hangs from the ceiling. The chairs and gallery date from the church's construction in the mid-18th century.

The fishermen of the Haffküste fishing cooperative head out onto the lagoon daily or empty their fish traps in the Uecker River. They bring ashore fresh perch, pike-perch, roach, eel, burbot, salmon, and whitefish. Under the old chestnut trees, the fishermen's nets dry, and idyllic boathouses evoke memories of bygone days, while modern facilities for cooling and processing the catch are also available. You can also buy freshly caught fish directly from the fishermen.

Beautiful hikes in the immediate vicinity and worthwhile excursions to more distant destinations around the Szczecin Lagoon, to Pasewalk, and towards Poland are all easily accessible.
