A small, very beautiful exhibition with information about the exhibits. The exhibits at the country manor will illustrate 175 years of pyramid history. Besides the familiar pole, stand, and multi-tiered pyramids, there are also figures carrying pyramids, pyramid houses, and small cardboard Christmas mountains with built-in pyramids. While the pyramids from the Saxon Ore Mountains rotate, the glass spheres, called "Märbeln" there, roll from Lauscha in Thuringia. Watching them roll is a special treat, thanks to the built-in spirals of colored glass. An old workshop for making these spheres will be recreated. Pyramids and glass spheres will also feature prominently in the design of the old Märklin Gauge 1 tinplate model railway. As the trains transport the spheres and their raw materials to and from a glass factory, the surrounding landscape of table mountains topped with a variety of pyramids will take on a surreal, otherworldly appearance. Furthermore, two floors of the castle will feature everything that makes Christmas in Saxony and Thuringia so special: old Erzgebirge figurines and toys, dollhouses and toy shops, a woodturning workshop, and plenty of fir branches. Add to that a crackling fire in the fireplace and mulled wine in the medieval castle vaults.
