Yesterday, we were planning to cycle from Söderkoping to Linkoping via the canal path and the north side of the lake. Being late September, the lake ferry had closed for the season. We were about halfway along the Komoot route when it said “turn right in path.” It was impossible! Just a jumble of cut down forest and no way to actually get through. We went a little further to take a path to reconnect to original route. A big sign posted NO TRESSPASSING. Private property. Turn back and go to the bridge by the canal. Apparently, we never saw this prior, and we weren’t supposed to be going that way anyway. I unfortunately didn’t take a photo which would have been helpful. Apologies.

Since the Norrköping campsite is permanently closed, I had to look for another solution. What a surprise! A great hostel, beautifully furnished, right in the train station building. A single room with a private bathroom, including breakfast, costs €50. My bike found a safe place in the stairwell.
