Technically easy. Nevertheless, do not underestimate. Lots of water, sun and cold protection. The air is veeery thin.

At more than 5000 meters, a good acclimatization to altitude is required. Walk slowly.

If you want to do the tour alone, i.e. without an agency/guide, you should register/de-register with the police and mountain rescue service. Previous acclimatization and experience in high-altitude mountaineering are mandatory. You often need a 4x4 vehicle to get there (depending on the time of year). Even though it is hot in San Pedro de Atacama, it is cold up here. So take appropriate wind and heat protection with you. At least 2.5 liters of water and don't forget sun protection! Any uncovered area of skin burns within minutes! Technically simple, trekking poles are helpful, but be sure to take crampons with you if there is snow and ice. Then have fun and always take it slowly! 🤙

A nice Vulcan as a start of hiking in the altitude.

The Cerro Toco with its 5604 m is an ideal volcano for people who want to get a taste of the mountain air. Although only 500m have to be overcome; but beware, this should not be underestimated! He is technically very simple but the height throws you to a. At the top you have a fantastic view.

Although he is one of the highest mountains in Bolivia, he is less known and is rarely climbed. The way there is a bit long, but in good weather, ascent is possible all year round. He offers a simple climb; on first wide driveways, later on a narrow mountain path. Nevertheless, not to be underestimated because of the very high altitude! Maybe the summit area could also be slightly iced; but he is so flat that he is still walkable. The paths are easy to find.

The Uturuncu is an easy-to-climb super-volcano in Bolivia, once you're near it ...

The Cerro Toco is an incredibly easy to climb mountain. Nevertheless, the 500 meters to be overcome should not be underestimated. After all, one is at over 5000m. Lots of water, a little refreshment and 2-3 hours bring time!
