Until 1507, the Raidwangen parish belonged to the original parish of Nürtingen. Afterwards, it became a branch of the parish in Neckarhausen. However, after 1900, Raidwangen developed so rapidly that the desire for its own church grew ever stronger. The village church was consecrated in 1910.

A weir, also called a dam, weir, or in Switzerland, Austria, and southern Germany, also a weir, is a hydraulic engineering structure that controls the inflow or outflow of a body of water. It is thus part of a reservoir system and forms an artificial drop. Weirs can be temporarily overflowed, overflowed, or both. They are often, but not necessarily, constructed and operated in conjunction with other structures such as watermills, hydroelectric power plants, locks, and dams.
