A place of peace and quiet! A place of reflection! And there are regular services there, too.

December 9, 2024, St. Othmar Church

The church of St. Othmar in Pfettrach, which has gone through several architectural styles, was built around 1490 by a master mason from Landshut and remodeled in the Baroque style around 1700 by the master builder Hans Widtmann from Pfeffenhausen. The church was expanded in 1805 to include the Count's Chapel with a partially occupied family crypt of the Deroy family of counts, the then lords of the castle of Pfettrach. The interior is dominated by the Baroque high altar with the figures of the patron saint St. Othmar and the patron saint of cattle St. Leonhard. The altar has side doors depicting St. Florian and St. Anthony of Padua; above them are the statues of St. Joseph and St. Zacharias.
