Piața Victoriei (Victory Square), also known as Piața Operei (Opera Square), is a square in the present-day city center of Timișoara, a city in western Romania. During the Romanian Revolution of 1989, which led to the violent overthrow of the regime under Nicolae Ceaușescu, the present-day Piața Victoriei was a central site of the first mass demonstrations and bloody unrest.
