Above the sports field at the "Sportareal Erzgebirgsblick" recreational area, the 27.5 m high observation tower invites you to linger. From the viewing platform, which is reached via 136 steps, visitors are treated to an impressive panorama of the central and western Ore Mountains, extending to the border regions with the Czech Republic and the mountain ranges around Augustusburg. Opening hours: from March to November daily (from 8 a.m.) From December to February, the tower must remain closed due to ice formation and falling ice. This is due to the tower's construction (spiral staircase and platforms with grating covers) and is a requirement of TÜV.https://www.gelenau.de/tourismus/freizeit/aussichtsturm

Many of the machines are still functional and will be demonstrated. Furthermore, finishing machines such as linking, sewing, and forming machines are exhibited, along with a comprehensive collection of hosiery samples. In addition to numerous artifacts from the hosiery industry, a stocking weaver's workshop from around 1895 offers a glimpse into the life of a family of Erzgebirge stocking weavers.
