20th anniversary of the Easter Fountain in Zschernitzsch near Altenburg. Can be visited from March 29th to April 13th, 2026 in Borngasse next to the parish church. It is accessible 24 hours a day.

The Botanical Garden is located in Schmitzer Park. It is open from May to October and offers numerous endangered plant and flower species. There are several places to sit and relax. The annual pumpkin festival takes place in October. It is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed on Mondays. The entrance fee is a trust fund and therefore provides a donation for the Botanical Adventure Garden Association.

The garden restaurant "Zur Leimrute" is located in the Knau gardens on the outskirts of the town of Altenburg. It is one of the only garden restaurants with a beer garden still in operation in the town. Outdoor seating with garden operation, children's menu and also 🐕 are permitted. Closed on Mon./Tues./Thurs., open from 5 p.m. Wed./Fri./Sat./Sun. It is suitable for family celebrations and popular with cyclists and hikers.
