Perched on a low glacial ridge above Sjövik, Höglundsåsen offers one of the finest viewpoints along stage 59 of the Sörmlandsleden. From the top you get sweeping views over the fjärdar leading toward Södertälje — with Brandalsund Castle visible across Hallsfjärden and, further ahead on the trail, the historic Viad manor (built in 1860).

Here at the shore of Mörkö is a recently constructed shelter overlooking the water. Surrounding the shelter is a mostly clear-cut area without any trees. In front of the shelter is a fireplace, and there are hand saws as well as an axe, as well as a bucket. Behind the shelter is a privy/outhouse.

You should definitely go here and have lunch. The lunch menu is very tasty and organic. The building itself won the silver prize in the “Sveriges mest omtyckta nutida byggnad” architecture competition a few years ago. Concerts and performances are regularly held here. A stroll through the adjacent gardens is also worthwhile.

There is a cliff here and a small area separated from the main path. It offers a great view of the lake as well as ample space for pitching tents as well as trees for hammocks.
