The trail follows the North Fork San Gabriel River from North San Gabriel Dam to River Road. There are multiple sections where you can step down to the river but most of the main trail leads through forest. Thanks to the trees and the paved trail, this is a very easy hike that can be done by families and even with strollers or wheelchairs.
