The monument in Feldbergen (a district of Söhlde in the district of Hildesheim) is an impressive and rather unusual structure of its kind. It is a war memorial commemorating the victims of the First World War. The most striking feature is the central relief of a rising sun with widely fanned sunbeams. In the period after the First World War (built around 1925), the rising sun often stood for hope, a new beginning or the transfiguration of the fallen soldiers (the "entering into a higher light"). It is a strong contrast to the often rather gloomy or purely military monuments of this era.

In Hoheneggelsen (a district of the municipality of Söhlde), the Klein Berliner Hof (officially: Klein Berliner Hof Werner GmbH) is particularly well-known. The farm is a real family business that has been around for over 50 years. It has developed from a small butcher shop into a stately traditional business with around 20 employees. Today it is already run in the third generation.

The lake is always worth a trip. You can cycle or walk around it. The lake features, among other things, the Cafe del Lago (restaurant/bar) with a lovely sun terrace. "Jim's Beach Bar" is also located right by the lake. There, you can enjoy drinks and snacks right on the sand by the water. Right next door is the "Pirate Playground" with plenty of play equipment for the little ones. On the Fredenberg side of the lake, there is a waterskiing facility with a restaurant and a swimming beach. A little further on, you'll find the diving center with a diving entrance.
