65 Switchbacks Descent from Hintertux Glacier

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Very easy to ride trail. I rode through everything easily on the gravel bike. Just lower the saddle a bit and let it roll. :)

Naviser Sunnseitn Trail 522

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Unfortunately, the trail was widened to a good 1.5m in Oct. 22, rolled and smoothed out and thus completely ruined. Now an ugly furrow dug up by the excavator runs across the mountain flank and the trail no longer has any appeal. Totally incomprehensible! 😩😡

Europa Hut South Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The upper third of the trail leads steeply over stones and slabs, some of which are loose. Without protectors there is therefore the highest risk of injury when driving (with protectors as well). Therefore, the classification S3-4 is realistic in my opinion. However, there is no risk of death or falling. You can push your bike without any risk and you are on the safe side.
In the further course the ground changes, the trail becomes more like S2, in some places possibly S3. Depending on the design, you could possibly speak of the risk of falling in some narrow passages if you are not completely free from vertigo. But the trail is getting more and more flowing.
All in all, that's 1,000 very interesting, demanding and strenuous meters in depth, which can, however, be fun if you know how to handle your bike and have very good riding technique!

Bikepark Tirol

Highlight • MTB Park

In the Wipptal holiday region lies Steinach am Brenner with its small but fine bike park Tirol. A couple of exciting routes, a warm-up zone and a slopestyle area await you here. The blue freeride route (komoot.de/highlight/835602) is around 1,900 meters long and is suitable for beginners as well as professionals. The red route (Red Devil) is more difficult and steeper and has already been the scene of downhill races. Over a length of around 1,500 meters, you can expect an interplay of berms, step-ups, step-down jumps and north shores. You and your bike will be transported to the start of the route by gondola lift.

A stay in Steinach am Brenner is also highly recommended if you like to go on longer bike tours. For example, you can take a tour to Innsbruck on the beautifully situated Wipptal cycle path or explore the numerous trails in the area by mountain bike.

You can find all information about the region and the bike park here: bergeralm.net/oeffnungszeiten-sommer.

Uphill is easy to do with an eMTB, but it's better to push the bio bike.

The section between Vogeleralm and Zehnteralm is not worth it. Of course you can drive it somehow, but it has neither flow nor is it fun. The western section, which has been made "bike-friendly", doesn't cut it. Sorry, but this is not an MTB trail!

Coming from the VögelerAlm, the climb was leveled up to the highest point. The entire Sunnseiten Trail can therefore be cycled through without dismounting or pushing.

No flow trail and not S1/S2... The trail is only S1 in sections, mainly in the upper part. Then over large parts S3 in the middle part, steep with many hairpin bends on loose coarse gravel. Safe bike control and advanced riding technique are required on an exposed scree field (e.g. keeping your balance while stationary and/or moving the rear wheel). Further down, the trail becomes less demanding (mostly S2), but with some narrow, blocked (S3) passages and steeper again in the lowest part switchbacks. All in all a beautiful trail in a great landscape for experienced nature trail bikers.
