June 24, 2026, View of Stara Planina

One of the best places on the Stara Planina. The view is amazing, and it's tucked in thick beech forest right under the Babin Zub rock spire (1,785m), near the Konjarnik ski area. Reaching it by bike through the woods is a proper Stara planina adventure — but come prepared for real mountain terrain, not a casual spin. Route: Topli Do-Babin Zub. From there, there is a wide truck offroad, but it's not chill. It's pretty steep on some parts, so be prepared. Effort: expect ~700m of elevation for 10km. The surface is combination of firm, loose, rocky, mud after rain. Watch for: no phone signal on some parts, weather changing fast at altitude. Best ridden in dry conditions. You're high and remote here, so carry layers, water, and tools — help is not close.

The highest peak in Serbia. You can reach it from Bulgaria or Serbia. From the Bulgarian side there are two ways to the summit. A normal path (which is pretty easy) and one that is quite strenuous and overgrown (you have to make your own way through the bushes and trees). The view from the top is sooooo beautiful. There are also a lot of hikers from Serbia there.

Even if this mountain is only comparably small, you have a beautiful all-round view in all directions

The peak is located on the border between Bulgaria and Serbia. This is also the highest Serbian peak. The climb from Serbia seems easier.
