Interesting building. Unfortunately it cannot be visited and you can only see it over the castle wall.

A "lost place" as it stands in the book! It's a shame that such an imposing property has been left to decay!

I discovered the place by chance. Since I like castles, I was very satisfied and I took some pictures. Unfortunately, I couldn't spend a lot of time here. But the environment looks very nice.

The Gresse Estate was an estate in Gresse in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Separated by a street, the property included the impressive manor house with park and stables, built in the neo-Gothic style by 1860 according to plans by Heinrich Thormann, as well as the courtyard with stables and the estate manager's house. Many of the buildings are empty and unfortunately in a dilapidated condition. The manor house with park is located on an island about 200 meters west of the main road. The Boize River runs directly behind the building, and in front of it is the castle pond, which is connected to the Boize River. Directly on Zarrentiner Street is the dilapidated former stables, fenced in for security purposes. The ruined former stables are fenced in for security purposes. East of Zarrentiner Straße is the former manor house with stables, the distillery, and remnants of the courtyard wall, the burnt-out ruins of the manor manager's house, as well as the baroque village church. The neo-Gothic, two-story, irregularly structured plastered building was built in 1849/50 according to plans by the architect Heinrich Thormann, after a previous building at another location had been demolished in 1849 under Georg von Drenckhahn. The east facade features two raised, stepped gables that partially conceal the flat hipped roof. The eaves are decorated with pointed arches and ornamental friezes. Raised pillars structure various wall surfaces. At the southeast end, an octagonal, crenellated observation tower is integrated into the building, and next to it, on the roof, is another, narrower tower with a weather vane. On the east facade, there is a terrace with a two-flight open staircase. An open staircase also connects to the conservatory on the rear façade. The romantic octagonal ceiling fresco in the tower room is a special feature. After the Second World War, the manor house was used as a retirement home until the spring of 1997. In 1998, a group of heirs living in the USA took over ownership. The building has been empty and dilapidated ever since. The ceiling coverings, ceiling frescoes, and the conservatory are severely damaged. A fire in 2008 caused damage to the roof truss and the wooden ceiling. As of December 2010, the manor house is listed for sale by a real estate company. www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gut_Gresse
