Nice waterfall over the Pantanet ravine. A very quiet and picturesque place a few meters from the town of Alfafara and which is undoubtedly worth visiting

Up in the hills between Casa Rural Bons Aires and Alcoi we accidentally stumbled upon waterfalls. Quite impressive, frankly. From the point where you see the falls, there is a path that leads downhill, and that follows the Riu Barxell, a river that joins the Riu de Polop, which flows towards Alcoi.

From Casa Rural Bons Aires it takes about 20 minutes to reach the Riu de Polop, a small river that flows towards Alcoi. In the weekend you will find lots of tourists here. Not all of them seem to have found this spot on foot. There may be a parking somewhere. The paths next to the river can be very muddy in the winter or in spring. Your shoes will literally grow in size as they accumulate light gray layers of very sticky clay. This route was recorded on the 8th of May, after a period of heavy rains. Normally you can walk to Alcoi along the river, but this was not possible now. Not on sneakers anyway. In stead of following the river, we hiked uphill for a bit to skip a large part of muddy trails. An extra advantage is the solitude that you find in the hills.
