Definitely not expected here, but beautiful. Outside a Shinto forest and inside changing exhibitions on Japan

This building was a mansion. In GDR times it was severely neglected. The mansion became this castle. Particularly surprising that you don't get the usual view of a castle. The name of the castle gives an idea. A very nice Japanese exhibition can be admired. It is particularly positive that you are guided through the exhibition.

Beautiful mansion with a small park, which is currently being renovated by the owners with great attention to detail. Definitely worth a stop. If you are lucky, you can also visit the great rooms. And if you are still looking for an overnight stay, this is the right place. :)

Although this "castle" with a Japanese exhibition does not have so good access roads, especially the large Japanese grove (modeled on the Shinto groves) is definitely worth a detour - especially if you drive past the main road anyway. The exhibition inside (on our visit it was "Ceramics from the Radeloff Collection") is also interesting, only the building is no longer complete, probably because of the low number of visitors and therefore no public funding (maintained by a local district) new condition ... Entrance to the castle costs € 5 per person, you can get into the grove for a voluntary donation, which is probably very welcome.

Lieper Castle is a rampart in the municipality of Thelkow in the Rostock district, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. It is an early Slavic hill castle from the 8th century. The castle stands on a spur-like ledge twenty meters above the Recknitztal. The inner surface of Lieper Castle is relatively large compared to many other Slavic castle complexes in northern Germany. The diameter of the inner surface is over a hundred meters. The castle rampart was heaped up out of sand on the surface of the earth and limited in the core by stone packs. It is 13 m wide at the foot. Deep trenches also protected the plant. A worthwhile hiking destination. The adjacent nature reserve is also very beautiful.
