When driving on the 3 Sea Route around the Great Sea you will pass two such self-propelled points.
It's always a change to use muscle power to pull yourself to the other side.
In the high season, when many cyclists use this route, there can be short waiting times. It's definitely a change. Wish everyone a lot of fun on the crossing.

Lake Königskeil

Highlight • Lake

The Königskeil is a very secluded lake in the middle of the forest by the Eternal Sea. Nice destination for a REST break in which you can clean up your provisions - but you have to bring that with you!

Ewiges Meer

Highlight • Lake

With a surface area of 89.2 hectares, the Eternal Sea is Germany's largest raised bog lake. The boardwalk around the nature reserve is currently closed. Only the path to the sea is open and can be reached from the parking lot in just a few minutes. There is a small platform and a bench.

KÖNIGSKEIL ○ After the 1765 edict of reclamation, the Prussian king took possession of wasteland, heaths and moors for himself and leased them to colonists. Disputes over the land that had previously been used jointly were inevitable. The Norder Fehngesellschaft also fought with the state for 80 years over land that had been promised to them in the leasehold contract. When an agreement was reached in 1875, the company received the so-called "Königskeil" and an enlarged area nearby as compensation. -Information board on site-

The lake got its name from its special shape. The municipal area protrudes in a wedge shape to the west. The "royal" part of the name indicates that it was former royal land. Peat extraction was carried out on the site until 2013.

On the section of the 3-Seas-Weg you have a wonderful view of the Great Sea as well as of the holiday home area opposite the canal. From the viewing platform, the view is expanded again.
