A bit after the Tobelhof near Rikon begins the wilderness of the Tobel, which has no name, even the stream is simply Tobelbach.
In the Lower Casting, we find a large pool surrounded by nails, which is filled with water through an imposing waterfall, and there is no lack of a fire pit with wooden benches.
After the pool, a steep staircase leads to a higher ground level, where shortly after the end of the stairs a narrow path leads to the so-called "bathtub". This was previously filled with less attachment, but it still invites dogs and children to swim.
A little further on is the next waterfall. But if you want to see it, you have to find it first, because it is barely visible from the path: a good 500 meters after the stairs, a trail branches off to the left, which ends at a small platform. This offers good views.
At the Bläsimühle the Tobel is over. At the forest exit there is a large fireplace with beautiful stone tables and benches as well as a playground.

Those who like to wade in the water can wade well with waterproof sandals from the Bläsimühle to the Upper Giessen through the Tobelbach. Especially in high heat a really pleasant change. From Untere Giessen towards Tobelhof, this is not quite as good as it is because of a few obstacles and steps in the creek bed, but it works.

Kemptnertobel Waterfall

Highlight • Waterfall

Especially in summer the Chämtner Tobel is always worth a detour for 2- and 4-legged friends. Not only the Tobel provides great shade and pleasant temperatures, the Chämtnerbach also lets you step into the cool water again and again. It has not just one, but several waterfalls.

Primeval landscape, fascinating. Steep Donhill from Wolfsgrueb on a gravel path, then a wider path along the Vordertöss to the confluence with the Hintertöss. There is a fireplace, two benches, a small table.
In the opposite direction, the ascent to Wolfsgrueb is too steep, almost impossible to ride (at least for me without e-support)

Beautiful ravine, you can even climb behind the waterfall! However, the whole area is classified as dangerous by the Nagelfluh slopes!

Attention, risk of falling rocks. The Nagelflue rock lies here over a layer of sandstone and is very brittle.

The Sagenraintobel is located where the Tösstal slopes down to Lake Zurich. The elongated incision is a soul landscape in which it is wonderful to stroll along the streams. The Sagenraintobel is such a soul landscape. It is located in the south-eastern corner of the canton of Zurich, where the Tösstal area slowly slopes down to Lake Zurich. The elongated incision stretches from the last houses of Wald in a north-easterly direction and is traversed by the Schmittenbach. The actual, wooded valley is not long, maybe three kilometers, but that's enough to relax. And that's exactly what you need in the approaching dark season with its own challenges.
