When Kattegattleden was being planned, one of the landscape architects involved described this stretch as among the most scenic parts of the entire trail — and it’s easy to understand why. Thank you for the beautiful pictures! If you are interested in local cultural history, don’t miss the old healing spring “The Vicar’s Well” (Prostens Källa). The spring later became part of the story that turned Särö into a renowned royal seaside resort during the 18th and 19th centuries. The spring lies right by the entrance to the Hördalen nature reserve, home to ancient oak trees — some more than 700 years old, one even large enough to step inside. A beautiful place for a picnic, especially in spring when the forest floor is covered with anemones. Several small guesthouses and B&Bs can also be found nearby for those exploring the area more slowly.

This bathing spot is quite busy in good weather. A walk around the lake is worthwhile, and ideally you'll be rewarded with a cove where you'll be alone, or at least almost alone.

Beautiful lake in a nature reserve. A 2.5 km circular path leads around the lake. The path is gravelled and easy to walk on. The circular path is also easily manageable with a stroller. There are several benches and a shelter on one side of the lake, as well as two barbecue areas.

A very nice swimming spot for all ages. There are large lawns, several seating areas, and a few barbecue areas. Towards the parking lot, there's a truck where you can buy hot dogs and sandwiches and rent SUPs. A few portable toilets are also available. At the swimming area, the non-swimmer area is separated from the rest of the lake by a wooden walkway. There's a ramp so that people with disabilities can also swim. A truly beautiful swimming spot that has been thought of for everyone.
