This is a great place to stop and admire a small scenic pond surrounded by grasses and trees. Beavers made the pond by building a dam, which you can see near this spot. On the hike in, you might have noticed some stumps gnawed down to points by these hardworking animals, who felled the trees to make their dam. This is nice place to stop, take some photos, look for the beavers and other animals, and admire the beautiful wetlands.

Just a few miles east of downtown Saratoga Springs is an amazing, relatively flat, out-and-back nature trail. The Bog Meadow Brook Trail takes you through three different types of wetlands (open marsh, wet meadow, and forested wetland), with interpretive signage along the way to teach you about these different ecosystems. Except for portions of boardwalk, the majority of the trail is on ground that may be muddy or wet. Appropriate footwear is necessary.
