It is surprising that this section of the trail only has to be created by me as a highlight in 2023. The mountain trail does not impress with breathtaking views but with an incredibly beautiful landscape - forests, pastures, blueberry meadows and waterfalls. Before the hike, I was afraid that the proximity to the pass ascent would be very annoying - but the many streams drown out everything. The path itself is very varied over almost its entire length and is also good for children to walk on. Uphill requires a bit of fitness. If you don't want to walk back the same way, take bus line 162 between Hotel Steingletscher and the Gadmen-Obermaad campsite.

Anyone who takes some time amidst the steep rock faces will experience the Gotthard myth up close. The Gotthardreuss rises at the Lucendro Pass, and after crossing Hospental it flows mostly near the old Gotthard Pass road, continuously taking in streams from both sides of the valley.

The most prominent waterfall is the Reuss Waterfall and Gotthard Road Bridges, known for its picturesque cascade and alpine scenery.
