Piazza del Popolo is the heart of the city of Fermo and has a clear sixteenth-century style, with linear and harmonious buildings in every detail. It is 135 meters long and 34 meters wide and is bordered upstream and downstream by two imposing sixteenth-century brick porticos. Walking on the ancient pavement or under the beautiful porticos, catapulted back in time, you can have the sensation of breathing the same air that blew when it was still under construction.

A beautiful square to visit calmly with its museums, libraries and palaces. The cathedral of Fermo and the Piazzale del Girfalco are also worth a lot.

Fermo stands on the summit and along the slopes of Colle Sàbulo (319 m above sea level), so called since the time of the ancient Romans probably because it is predominantly tufaceous in formation. The city is today divided into two parts: the historical part, which grew around and on the top of the Sabulo hill, which has remained almost intact over the centuries with its splendid medieval appearance, and a new part
