View of the Minnesota River from Minnesota River Bluffs Trail

Highlight • Viewpoint

I didn't take the trail that gets down nearer the river today, as it's a bit rougher, I stayed up on a newer section of trail, but the views were still great.

Shakopee Brewery Ruins

Highlight • Historical Site

Brewery ruins by Shakopee. They are on private land, but the state bike trail goes right past. Pretty neat, the trail goes past the back side of the building, so you see their aging caves, etc.

Interesting paved climb

Highlight • Trail

The only trail section in all of this unit that is paved. I wonder if it was paved as part of the farmstead?

For some reason I saw more building ruins today over by the current owners river access trail where they have the canoes and such. They have a little steal shed with a small deck and chairs overlooking the bike path. Looks like some fun land to visit someday if I ever meet the folks here.

The trail takes you right up to the edge of the water, your view complemented by the bend in the river. The trail system along the Minnesota is extensive, and this is a great, accessible scenic spot to include on your ride.
