Tips from the Community

Lisa
September 28, 2024, Milton Reimers Ranch Park

This canyon and forest-clad has several miles of frontage along the Pedernales River, so you'll find people fishing and swimming. The biggest attractions here tend to be mountain biking and climbing though, and of course hiking. There's an astronomical observatory here as well, taking advantage of dark skies to focus on the heavens. A day-use fee (currently $5 per person over 12 years old, cash only) applies at the entrance booth.

August 18, 2022, Gnarled tree

This is an attractive gnarled tree that looks like it's come out of a Harry Potter novel. It can be found on the multi-use trails along the Pedernales River in the Milton Reimers Ranch Park. The trails are popular with a range of users and there are fishing nodes to the south.
