Nearby is the Baltic Sea Coastal Cycle Route (Ostseeküstenradweg). It leads directly through the Rostocker Heide, parallel to the Baltic Sea coast BUT you see nothing of the coast and the ground is a forest path. My recommendation: Take the absolutely good asphalted cycle path parallel to the L22 from Hinrichshagen to Graal-Müritz.

A truly wonderful destination for children. However, it's always quite crowded on weekends and during school holidays.

The Ludewig Basin in Rostock's city harbor is getting a new 180-meter-long promenade. Where concrete remains and wild growth currently dominate the scene, in just 18 months people will be able to stroll and enjoy the view of the Warnow. Dr. Chris Müller, Senator for Finance, Administration and Order of the Hanseatic City of Rostock, is delighted: "The area of the Ludewig Basin was for a long time unsightly wasteland that marked the eastern end of the city harbor for many locals and guests. The new promenade will now close this gap. In this way, a very attractive new piece of waterfront is being created that Rostock residents and tourists alike will surely soon discover for themselves." The area had already been examined for possible bomb remains from World War II at the end of June. The actual construction work is now beginning with the necessary demolition work and the new bank protection. For this purpose, a
