Even if the metal Auriedsteg is such a sober construct, the kilometer-long view along the Saane, which forms the border between the cantons of Bern and Fribourg, is impressive. If you have the time and inclination and the necessary interest, you should not only follow the banks of the Saane, but definitely pay a visit to the nature reserve right next to the Auriedsteg bridge.

If you keep your eyes open and don't just look into the distance, you will be surprised at how much life there is in the one square meter of earth you are standing on.
