A great area for hiking. I suspect all hell breaks loose here in WInter.

Shortly after the climb out of the ski stadium, the quiet mountain wilderness of Idrefjäll begins: On the circular trail "Fjället runt", you quickly leave the hustle and bustle of the facilities behind and follow the wide gravel path almost alone, before it gently leads back down into the quiet pine forests and moors at the foot of the Fjäll.

On the eastern side of Idrefjäll, you’ll find peaceful solitude in the fragrant forests. On the gently rolling “Fjället runt” loop trail, you can hike or bike through the Swedish mountain forest far from the hustle and bustle, enjoy sweeping views of Städjan and Nipfjället, and clear your mind on this mostly flat stretch.

The ski stadium on the Idre Fjäll is the starting point for numerous ski trails in this ski area. From 2.5 km to 18 km, classic or skating technique, there is something for everyone. There are also illuminated trails ("lätt spår") here, so you can go cross-country skiing in the evenings after sunset. Just follow the signs (colored diamonds) of the trails and respect the direction, then there is nothing in the way of winter sports.

The starting point for many summer and winter tours is the small, inconspicuous Nipstugan refuge at the foot of the Nipfjäll. Although it is much lower than the Nipfjäll itself, you can already enjoy a great view of the nearby Städjan from here - for example in the wintry dawn
