Comfy beds, a friendly staff, and a huge breakfast spread—this place has everything you could hope for in a cycling hotel. Bonus: they let us keep our bikes in our rooms.

Who doesn't love a good BAAW photo, and given the ubiquity of red barns in Sweden, this roadside photo op was too good not to stop.

The Götlunda Glass outlet is located behind Värdshus at a rest area on the road from the E18 to Arboga. It is a simply decorated cafe with nice service. Götlunda ice cream was served at the Nobel Prize ceremony and also tastes good to many vintage cars, which you can see right away in the parking lot. Address: Holmsätter Fårtallen 213, 732 97 Arboga, Sweden https://gotlundaglass.se/

Arboga has been mentioned since the 13th century and has its beautiful historic town center on both sides of the Arbogaån river bank. Many houses and the striking church bear witness to great wealth, which probably arose from the processing of iron.

Today's church dates from 1598. However, some of the walls are much older. Even the free-standing, wooden belfry is impressive. Apparently the actual church tower could not support the weight of the bells. Because this and the nave "move" in opposite directions. The interior is almost entirely decorated with pictures using a special fresco technique. They show very lively scenes from the Bible, with the characters dressed in period clothing. Ancient goddesses are also depicted. In the threshold to the sacristy, as in other places, old rune stones were installed. The tomb of the patron, Anders Jordansson Ryttare från Närke, is now in the back left part of the church. And there are some interesting tombs in the cemetery. Opening times: daily from 11:00 a.m Guided tours: We had a very nice and patient guide 🙏

One of the museums in the city that unfortunately I couldn't visit because it was closed. I didn't see opening times. You can get some information on the website, but unfortunately it is only in Swedish. As I understand it is a former brewery.
