Gray and scary, like a ghostly castle. With its gloomy façade. With a very nice interior and a pleasant, green square around. It's worth visiting.

The building creates an incredible contrast. A tiny town and a disproportionately huge church. Completely dominating the entire town. Anyone who likes history will definitely have a cool puzzle to solve here. Why does it look like this today :)

A dam reservoir on the Luciąża River, the second largest reservoir in Piotrków County with a water surface area of 217 ha and a capacity of 7.34 million m³. Located in Piotrków County in the communes of Łęki Szlacheckie (70% of the coastline), Rozprza and Gorzkowice. In the 1960s, a comprehensive plan for irrigation and meadow management in the Luciąża River valley was developed. Its construction began in 1986 and it was put into service in 1998. During construction, the inhabitants of the villages of Kuźnica Żerechowska, Łęgoń, Wygoda, Trzciniec and Borowiec were relocated, after which a chapel protruding from the water surface remained. The purpose of the reservoir was from the beginning to irrigate meadows for milk production and to serve as a water retention facility. Currently, it is a popular place of recreation and relaxation in Piotrków County. It is also appreciated by anglers who catch pike, crucian carp, roach, carp, bream and many other species of fish. The maximum depth of water near the dam is 12 meters. In the reservoir, during the season, water equipment rentals are available: boats, kayaks, water bikes. There are numerous camping sites and camping houses around the reservoir.

At the end of the 19th century, Gorzkowice received a magnificent brick church. The wooden church burned down in 1895 from a spark from a railway locomotive. Thanks to the compensation, which amounted to 25,000 rubles and the contributions scheduled in the parish, Father Ignacy Kasprzykowski built a magnificent, Gothic church, one of the most beautiful and largest in the diocese. It is divided into three naves, has five marble altars, a beautiful, carved pulpit, and opposite it a large figure of St. Peter in chains. The great altar was built of dark Kielce marble, as were the mensas of the four side altars with oak wood altarpieces. However, the tabernacle was made of bronze, and the beautiful white baptismal font of Carrara marble. The church has an eighteen-voice Riger organ, terracotta, oak furniture in the sacristy, in a word, everything thought out and coordinated from the smallest detail gives evidence of the love of God's house by the parish priest and the parishioners who understand him. In 1846, the Warsaw-Vienna railway station was built. On October 27, 1935, a new railway station building was officially opened, designed by engineer M. Michalski. The station underwent a major renovation in 2011. Opposite the station, there is a PKS bus stop, which provides bus connections to the main cities in the south of the Łódź province and to the municipalities of the Radomsko district, such as Lgota Wielka, Kamieńsk, and Przedbórz.
