Almost nothing is left of the forest, everything has been logged. Now there is a chapel in a large clearing.

An old trade route. From 1350 to 1750, oxen from Hungary were driven over 600 km to Augsburg in four weeks.

Beef was considered a special delicacy by the wealthy citizens of the imperial city of Augsburg in the 16th century. The enormous demand necessitated imports from as far away as Hungary. The Hungarian oxen, thinned by the 600 km drive, which lasted an average of four weeks, were grazed in numbers of up to 500 on the floodplains of the Lech Valley until they were slaughtered at the Augsburg city butchery. Besides this area, the largest ox pasture was the "Meringer Au" (today: Augsburg-Siebenbrunn). Other final pastures were located in the Ries region, around Wemding, near Weißenburg, and Neuburg. In Siebenbrunn, the now-dry Ochsenbach stream and the "Ochsenbachstraße" (Ochsenbach Street) are reminders of the former ox pasture. The “Old Bavarian Oxen Trail” of the “Wittelsbacher Land” brings the “Old Bavarian Oxen Culture” back to life on the route Friedberg - Friedberg/Paar-Harthausen - Sielenbach/Tödtenried.

The chapel was built by farmer Gregor Lampl (1834-1908) from Pfaffenhofen. Because he was able to live for many years after a leg amputation, he donated this chapel as a token of gratitude. The builder's crutch remained in it for many years after his death. The beautiful memorial plaques placed next to the chapel commemorate Gregor Lampl and two priests from his family:
