This is the most important church in Korçë and one of the largest Orthodox churches in Albania. It was built between 1992 and 2010. The previous Orthodox church was destroyed in 1968 by the communist authorities. You can hardly miss the cathedral. The building immediately stands out, with its large central dome, tall towers, and an elegant facade that combines a mix of traditional and modern styles. Be sure to take a look inside as well. The interior is richly decorated with icons, frescoes, and murals depicting biblical scenes and saints. It is not only a church, but also a cultural center where various events take place, such as concerts, exhibitions, and so on.

The Monument to the Unknown Soldier, a powerful memorial to the many Albanian soldiers who fell without a name or grave. The monument forms a symbolic endpoint of the city axis: a place where Korçë makes its military history and collective memory visible in the public domain. The clean design and the open space around it give the whole a subdued, almost ceremonial atmosphere.

A striking, dark red building with large white circular window frames — a modern accent in the urban fabric of Korçë. The geometric facade contrasts sharply with the surrounding historical architecture and marks the transition between the old bazaar district and the newer city zone. The building is five stories high, with a ground-floor establishment called “Mon Cheri”.

The Old Bazaar of Korçë dates back to the Ottoman era and is one of the most charming places in the city. Here you get an ideal picture of daily life in Korçë and the rich cultural and commercial history of the region. About 500 years ago, this was already an important trading center for the city, today you walk through a maze of narrow streets and alleys, lined with traditional Ottoman buildings. After a major fire in 1879, it was rebuilt. It has about 138 cultural monuments and is also known as the Bazaar of Serenades.

A wide, quiet strip by the lake, where the water remains strikingly clear and the horizon gently opens towards North Macedonia. The atmosphere is relaxed: flat pebbles, open views, and an almost Mediterranean light. In the early season, the beach is often completely empty, making the spot ideal as a short break point during a route or as a quiet stop along the Pogradec promenade.

Mostly, it is one, occasionally two, named saints who exercise the patronage over a house of God – and thus also over the associated community. However, for this church, which has the rank of a cathedral, i.e., a bishop's seat, a different decision was made: it was not dedicated to one of the – almost infinitely many – saints, but to Jesus Christ himself. Specifically, to his resurrection. This special and comparatively rare patronage broadens the Christian perspective from the cross of Good Friday to the hopeful perspective of Easter. For suffering and death are only seemingly the end, but – in the infinite love of the triune God – they are overcome with the resurrection to eternal life.
