Unfortunately, we were in a hurry, but this looks like a great place to take a rest and dip in the water. Thaya seems rather wide at this location, so it's probably a better swimming place than the one next to the old bathhouse a few km further north. Shuttle can take up to six bikes in one pass and it's up to you to pull it across the river.

It's unbelievable what there is in this shop - lots of herbal teas, ointments, tinctures, liqueurs, extracts, even the famous marigold ointment. It's best to get advice, the staff are incredibly knowledgeable about herbs and their possible uses. Opening hours: Tue-Fri: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Tel: 02844 7070 https://www.kraeuterpfarrer.at Really recommended!

Not only the interesting underground passage should be planned to stay. The associated inn also has an absolute recommendation. Good kitchen and friendly staff.

Here at the edge of the forest on a hill there is a covered rest area with a view of Karlstein. You will also find an artfully carved St. Hubertus in a hollowed-out tree trunk with a protective roof. https://www.marterl.at/index.php?id=23&no_cache=1&oid=10453
