The Kurhaus Binz is located on the beach promenade, at the Kurplatz and not far from the pier of the Baltic Sea resort of Binz on the island of Rügen in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Today it is a luxury hotel of the A-Rosa Hotels. History: With the "Ostseebad Binz AG", Berlin bankers invested in the expansion of the seaside resort and had a spa house built, which was opened on July 22, 1890. Among the first guests was Empress Auguste Viktoria. The half-timbered house burned down on May 1, 1906. In the summer of 1907, the municipal council decided to rebuild the spa house in stone according to the plans of the Berlin master builder Otto Spalding. The building became a landmark of the seaside resort. In the 1920s, the municipality sold the spa house together with the Hotel Kaiserhof for 165,000,000 Reichsmarks to Adalbert Kaba-Klein, Abraham Lemo, and Armin and Eugen Reichard. The spa house, with its variety theater, casino, and Kakadu bar, was visited at that time by wealthy guests such as industrialists, doctors, lawyers, and artists. The nation

In 1893, Wilhelm Klünder opened his hotel "Seeschloss." It had an annex used as a dining room, now known as the "Strandhalle." In addition to its seasonal dining use, the annex also served as a winter storage facility for beach chairs. In 1942, the "Seeschloss" hotel and the Strandhalle became the property of Albert Härtelt. In 1950, the neighboring building, the "Seeschloss," became the first holiday home of the Free Democratic Party (FDGB). In 1953, Albert Härtelt and his family suffered the same fate as many others. They were evicted as part of Operation Rose. During the GDR era, the Strandhalle served as a catering facility for the surrounding Free Democratic Party (FDGB) holiday homes. Current use: Restaurant serving fine, home-style cuisine https://villen.binz.de/haeuser/strandhalle/
