It is hard to imagine that the trees have been growing there for 8 centuries - will we manage to let the larches grow for another 8 centuries or will we destroy the rest of nature completely?!

Chandolin is located between 755 m and 2700 m on the steep eastern slope of the Val d'Anniviers in French-speaking Switzerland. The village offers an exceptional view of the Valais Alps from Zinalrothorn, Besso, Ober Gabelhorn, Zinalspitze to Dent Blanche. The commune includes the communes of Chandolin, Sousillon and Fang. The upper and young part of the commune of Chandolin culminates at 1936 m, making it one of the highest villages in Switzerland. In the town center you will find a small supermarket, a post office, a souvenir shop and various cafes and restaurants. The old part of the town in particular, located in the lower part of the town, has some nicely decorated wooden houses (some with rich floral decorations) which are worth a little detour.
