The Market Gate in Elbląg is one of the most recognizable monuments of the city. It was built in the 14th century and was part of the defensive fortifications. There is a legend associated with this gate, according to which the brave Piekarczyk cut thick ropes with his baker's shovel, on which the oak grille in the gate hung. In this way, he saved Elbląg from the invasion of the Teutonic Knights city area.

Also old market gate. Elbing is a city in West Prussia with over 700 years of German history. The city belonged to the Hanseatic League, which can be clearly seen in the architecture of the old town. The old town was restored with a lot of diligence, attention to detail and considerable commitment from the 1980s onwards.
