Wallenstein, the oldest castle in the Bohemian Paradise, was founded around 1260 by Jaroslav of Hruštice from the Markvartic family, ancestors of the lords of Wallenstein. The Wallensteins held the castle until about 1380, and the next owners, the lords of Vartenberk, until the beginning of the Hussite Wars.

Wallenstein Castle (German: Waldstein n. Wallenstein) is a castle ruin in the Semily district near Turnov, in the Bohemian Paradise region. The ancestral castle of the Lords of Wallenstein dates back to the second half of the 13th century. It is one of the oldest castles in the area. Now Wallenstein is in the possession of the city of Turnov.

A good inn with light meals at fair prices. Everything we had was delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are plenty of places to rest around the inn.
