The barbecue area is located right by the lake and features a brick fireplace with a spark guard and a picnic table. In summer, you can cool off in the water, and a lifebuoy hangs from a nearby tree just in case.

Very grateful for this highlight as we struggled to find a fresh water source in the area. It was a bit of a (short) hassle to get to with the loaded bikes but the place turned out to be magical. The old oak trees, the hill, the old crumbling walls. Don't know the local history but the place had a power feeling to itself. The water was delicious. There is a bench as well as a BBQ pit. We saw two local people passing by in the evening on a jog / dog walk.
