We had been here in March 2022. The park only opens its shops at Easter. Unfortunately we could not climb the tower and let the view wander. It's a shame, but we'll be back again 😊

The Leegmoor nature reserve is a raised bog. After years of peeling it was partially rewetted with the help of a moor protection program. In other places the peat is up to two and a half meters deep. It is a very natural area, inaccessible and therefore a paradise for ground breeders.

The observation tower in the family and leisure park "Surwolds Wald" has been one of the attractions of the park for many decades, along with the summer toboggan run, the climbing park, the fairytale forest and the mini golf course. The view over the northern Hümmling down to the Meyer shipyard and the sea radio towers near Ramsloh is fantastic. The only downer are the antiquated opening times. After 5 p.m. there is no more entry, which by the way costs 1€ for adults. So it would be better to keep access open, like on the Mordkuhlenberg in the Dammer Mountains.
