Of the Oberburg Manderscheid, only the outer walls and the striking keep remain today. From here you have an impressive view of the five-story structure, which is even accessible.

The proud sequoias in Manderscheid look strikingly strong and healthy. The good climate of the Volcanic Eifel seems to be doing them a lot of good. We have discovered three trees so far, two of which stand at the entrances to the town to welcome you. A knight was even assigned to guard this one (and water it?). Does anyone know when and how they got here?

The Lieserpfad follows the Lieser river from its source to its mouth in the Moselle and leads you through the wild nature of the Volcanic Eifel. It is a wonderful way to switch off and clear your head.
