The former synagogue in Hohebach near the Old Town Hall was first built on this site between 1816 and 1818. However, this single-story structure had already fallen into disrepair by 1838 and was in danger of collapsing by 1839. A successor building was built on this first building. This was desecrated in the November pogroms of 1938 and subsequently used in part as a storage room. After the war, the building was converted into a residential building, and the arched windows were removed in the process.
