Beautiful route, with a tough section at the beginning due to the loose sand.

An extensive nature reserve on the Veluwe, where you walk between heathlands, sand drifts and old forests. The Houtdorper- and Speulderveld is known for its mysterious 'dancing' trees and offers a beautiful place for those seeking peace and nature lovers to enjoy the varied Veluwe landscape

Unfortunately forbidden for cyclists 🚳. Contrary to what many locals think in practice, it is forbidden to cycle freely in the Houtdorper- en Speulderveld nature reserve, of which the gravel hole is part. It is best to remain friendly to our nature managers (before they close even more) and stay on official cycle paths or the MTB route.
