Rosette Rock was formed from a giant flow of lava that fractured in a radial pattern upon cooling. Its pattern is almost floral, hence its namesake. You get a few great views of Rosette Rock as you wander the national park.

The multi-use Maribyrnong River Trail follows its eponymous river for nearly 25 kilometres through northwest Melbourne.
