Someday I'll just stop and have a drink here. It's always busy on weekends, and the location is magical.

Several post milestones can be seen along the old post road

The old Hamburg Post Road, which ran from Berlin to Hamburg, was an important historical route that was already in use in the 17th century. This road led from Berlin through places such as Tegel, Hennigsdorf, Bötzow and also through Flatow. In its heyday, the Post Road not only served to transport mail, but was also an important trade route along which travelers and merchants traveled. Traces of this old connection can still be found along the route, especially in the Flatow area and surroundings, such as historical milestones and documentation of the busy trade traffic that remind us of the past of this road. The route lost importance when more modern roads and the railway replaced the old paths in the 19th century. Nevertheless, it is still of interest today for hikers and cyclists who want to follow the historical route and get a feel for the former importance and variety of landscapes along the route
