Mount Rutsen is a peak within the Ferncliff Forest with an elevation of 355 feet. There is an observation tower at the summit built by the United States Coast and Geodetic Survey to aid in map making during World War II.

This boardwalk provides access down to the bay and also connects to another service road in the Tivoli Bays Wildlife Management Area. This a beautiful wooded section of trail that is surrounded by a swampy wetland environment.

There is a cool waterfall here just off the side of the trail. The water levels in the creek obviously vary depending on the time of year and how much recent rainfall there has been, but there is always some sort of cascade going.
